product junkiebecause 1). I'm too frugal for that LOL and 2). I am not a fan of clutter. However, some hair products are so hyped up that I'm like okay... let me just buy it and see what the hype is all about. I've decided to mention a couple of products that most curlies SWEAR BY, but did absolutely nothing for my hair.

2). Kinky Curly Knot Today Natural Leave in Detangler — Weighed down my hair. (8 oz $12 at Target)
3). Kinky Curly Curling Custard (8 oz $17 at Target) — Also weighed down my hair (below the KCKT, not sure what happened to the label LOL)
4). Mixed-Chicks Leave In Conditioner (10 oz $16 at Target) — Weighed down my hair and made it feel kind of
greasy.
5). Miss Jessie's Quick Curls (8 oz $32) — Same as above; weighed down my hair and made it feel greasy.
So in total, I've spent around $80 for a bunch of products that did absolutely nothing for me LOL. Don't get me wrong, I am not bashing these products whatsoever! I know some people who swear by these products; it does wonders for them. Maybe it's the way I applied them. Maybe it's the amounts I used. Maybe it's because I combined them with other products. Maybe it's the density or texture of my hair. IDK!!!
DO ANY OF YOU HAVE SIMILAR EXPERIENCES WITH ANY (OR ALL) OF THESE PRODUCTS? Please tell me I'm not the only one LOL. It seems like they work for everyone but me :/

I tried the Kinky Curly Custard and it did not work because I had these white flakes everywhere! The directions say your hair must be absolutely clean, with no other product or the white flakes will occur. I don't know about your hair, but my hair needs like three moisture sources to act right! LOL.
@Tara - Girl YES!!! How could I forget to mention the white flakes. I'm glad to know I'm not alone on this one SMH.
Kinky curly actually does wonders for my daughter's hair, as well as mine. But since it's a bit expensive for such a meager amount, I just stick to HE Hello Hydration, Shea Moisture, and Softee brown gel.
hey! i nominated you for a Liebster award!!

Sheesh. You bought all of these and all they did was weigh down your hair? lol. I've heard good things about Kinky Curly and Mixed Chicks but everyone's hair is different.
I'm not signed up but I have a few friends that are signed up with Curly Box. It's a monthly subscription (not sure the price but I know it's reasonable). They send you 1 bottle of normal size bottles of different hair products. It's a good and reasonable way to try products out on your hair monthly and cross off the ones that don't work for you.

I used the Miss Jessie's Quick Curls, too. I didn't like it either. They didn't really define my curls, and kept my hair greasy, so I basically had to wash my hair the very next day (which is a hair no-no).
great blog

Dude... your curls make ME happy. LOL. I love them on you, especially your profile picture. I don't really collect products either, but I DO stick to ones that make me satisfied. I love the Monoi Shampoo, Conditioner, and deep conditioner by Carol's Daughter. I also love Perfect for Perm. So I swear by those products.
I'm with you -- I hate dishing out the dough required to be a product junkie!
It's all about finding what works for you. Sorry none of these did what you wanted them to do!
I use the same one product on my hair and my daughter's. If it ain't broken, don't fix it! :)
